I was driving down the road and saw a church that looked so desolate and dead. I noticed the grass hadn’t been cut in weeks and weeds were growing out of control. At first I thought it was sad, but then I realized church is more than just a building! In those moments as I pondered the truth of God’s word, in the description of the church, this writing flowed from my heart…

“The church doors may have closed and the service has stopped, but that doesn’t mean it’s over. There is a place of worship deep within a believers heart, an inner beauty that still lives on and never ends.”

The church is more than just a building with four walls. We as believers are the living stones built up as a spiritual house deep within our spirit. Jesus is the chief cornerstone, the Rock and the very foundation that we build our lives on. We are the body of Christ, followers of Jesus, His representatives, dedicated to Him in our everyday life. (John 5:39, 1 Cor. 3:11, 1 Peter 2:5 )

Now I don’t want to sound like the church building is insignificant, not at all. It is a sacred place where we believers, the body of Christ gather together to worship our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We fellowship and edify one another in word and in deed till we meet again. But that doesn’t mean to say now that the doors are closed it’s over. Our personal worship on a daily basis lives on and we still move and have our being through the Holy Spirit because it is He who comes alive in us, not just on Sundays but every moment of every day. (Acts 17: 28, Gal. 2: 20, Luke 17: 21)
And I believe one day soon, churches will come alive again and we’ll worship the Lord as we fellowship together…

“Church buildings come alive when believers attend
In worship together the Spirit descends
Faith rises high as we fellowship together
Miracles happen as we pray for each other
What a glorious awakening in the spirit we see
Enjoying God’s presence in the spirit we’re free
When the service is over and we part for the day
We still worship and minister as the Lord has His way
Passion still lingers in our heart’s everyday
For the love of our Saviour lives in us to stay.”

The next time you see a church building remember, Christ is the head of the church in the heart of every believer. (Colossians 1:18)

Closing Thought to Ponder
Even in the midst of this crisis, God’s beauty never ends…
For God’s grace still flows
His glory still shines
His compassion still shows
His peace still overflows
His mercies are still new every morning
His faithfulness is still great
And His love never ends from morning till night!

It is vitally important to keep our minds off what’s going on in the world right now. If we don’t then we are setting ourselves up for fear to take control, then it enters our heart and the result is, we will walk in fear and respond to it in our everyday life. What we see in the natural will lead us down the pathway of fear if we let it, and if we listen to the world, it will only lead us to more troublesome actions. We’ll be afraid to go out of the house and socialize with others in the future, and fearful to do things that at one time just came natural and so on. We have to take control of our minds and not let the world influence who we were created to be. We need to walk in faith and not let fear get in the way but push it aside and enjoy your journey with the Lord. Think of the time wasted when we worry, and we can lose out on so much if we do. Let’s walk by faith and in Hebrews chapter 11 verse one it says, faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Now that is true freedom when we walk the pathway of faith, which is His path of life and trust Him for the future. I was inspired to write this prayer of faith to encourage you on a daily basis not to fear, but to stand on His promises and believe in His word. There is a glorious outcome at the end of the pathway of faith so keep on moving forward, and let His peaceful presence lead the way. In His presence there is joy and at His right hand are pleasures forevermore. So, don’t let fear rob you of enjoying to the fullest the abundant life He has promised.

This is a word for you who feel your life looks hopeless…
GOD SAYS~
Fear not for HE has called you by name, HE has set you apart for Himself.
You are chosen and HE delights in you. HE has put His Spirit within you to counsel comfort and to complete the work HE has begun in and through you so HIS name will be glorified. HE will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert for you are HIS chosen people. When you pass through rough waters HE will be with you and they shall not overwhelm you for HE is there to carry you high above every wave. Face each wave head on and look on them as a challenge to change and conquer with courage with great strength in the Lord. When David saw Goliath he was faced with a great tsunami that day but instead of running from it he looked on it as a challenge and was willing to change and not rely on his own thinking or on others but decided to conquer the giant with courage as he relied on the strength of the LORD. Let’s do the same as we are faced with giant waves in our everyday life. Let us also look on them as a challenge to change our way of thinking and conquer with courage great strength in the LORD to overcome each one.
GOD also at times takes us out of our comfort zone and puts us in a place we don’t like and we may feel uncomfortable with it but through the heat of the process HE is stretching us as far as HE needs to and makes us more flexible to expand us to reach higher horizons. HIS word says When you walk through the fire the flames shall not burn you nor consume you for HE covers you with His grace and glory to protect you from all harm. HE refines and refinishes the work in you as HE transforms you from glory to glory only to be more like HIM. Let the flames of fire burn a deeper faith in God more and more. 2Cor.2:16 Isaiah 43

So take up your shield of faith do not give in to fear and follow where HE leads. You will see and do greater things than you ever thought possible as HE works through you this day and always. Don’t ever forget where you came from and always remember how GOD brought you through thus far and HE will take you the rest of the way. HE will make a way through every struggle even through sleepless nights HE’LL give you HIS peace. HE won’t forget you and remembers all HE has told you and HE will always make a way. HE will do a new thing for you, in you and through you, has HE not said it? Can you not see it, nor believe it? Call upon HIM and share together and HE will show you again the great and mighty things HE longs to do for you, for there is nothing impossible for our GOD. HE has declared and saved and proclaimed and you are HIS witness that HE is the LORD our GOD who was and is and yet to come.

How many are feeling insecure right now? Well, with all that’s going on around us, I believe many are feeling insecure. We can’t depend on finances, relationships or places of employment etc to make us secure at anytime, never mind now. What are you investing In or working towards to make you feel secure. In the world there is nothing or no one that can give you complete security.
But I have good news of an investment you wouldn’t want to miss. If you give your life to Christ, you are a child of God, and His follower and you have no reason to feel insecure. The Lord showed me some powerful promises that guarantee our security in Him. Jesus said in John 10:27-30
My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.

Now this is a relationship we can count on and have complete security in. We are able to communicate with Him, and follow His leading and He gives us eternal life! Wow! Think about it with me for a minute, we actually belong to Him. But that’s not all, He also guarantees that we are in His hand and even the heavenly Father’s hand and no one can break that strong grip they have on us. We are safe and secure no matter what goes on in the world and we have nothing to fear.
He promises us eternal life and an eternal home.

DO NOT LET YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. John 14:1-3
He tells us not to let our heart be troubled but to believe in Him. He has prepared a place for us and He will come again and take us to be with Him for all eternity. What powerful promises of God and there are many more in His word but let’s focus on these two today and don’t just read them but meditate on them and let them sink into our heart’s to build our foundation in Him and keep us strong.

Lord Jesus
Please take my worries and fears
Help me believe I am safe in Your hands
No matter what goes on around me
May I continue to build a secure relationship In
You and nothing else.
Help me to stand on Your word and walk in
Your ways, this day and always.

With all the uncertainty around us that’s all the more reason to keep our hearts and minds on Jesus. Looking to Him always and in these moments of testing and trial He is all we need. Keep in mind even though we are separated from each other, no one or nothing can separate you from Him. In Romans 8:38 we have this promise to hold dear to our heart, “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which Is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” I pray this prayer will usher you into the presence of the Lord as you surrender your heart to Him. All over the world people are hurting right now and the Lord hears the cries of their heart. Many are struggling to cope and find it hard to pray. It is not an easy road we are on right now and it’s hard to see an end to all of this and you may feel overwhelmed. You may need healing in your body, or your mind is in disarray with fearful thoughts. This prayer overflowed in my heart for you and I pray it will strengthen and encourage you as you pour your heart out to the Lord…

Now with all this time we have on our hands, it’s easy for our minds to get carried away thinking crazy or fearful thoughts. Doubts can rise up as we worry about the future or have concerns from yesterday. Well if we let our minds take control it will definitely carry us away with careless thinking. Every day we need to renew our minds and feed it with good thoughts and God’s word and keep away from reading negative news articles on what’s going on around us. God is bigger and stronger so we need to keep our focus on Him and His promises.
It’s easy to fall Into a trap but when we do always remember when you have God on your side He holds you up with His hand. In Psalm 37 verse 24 it says, Though we fall we shall not be utterly cast down for the Lord holds us up in His hand. Also in Psalm 9 verse 9 it says, The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.

Here Is an encouraging word I wrote inspired by the Holy Spirit back In 2014 when I was going through a trying moment… I pray It will encourage you

At the beginning of my journey the Lord made it known to me the importance of establishing my own personal prayer life. Many prayers I personalized from scripture, then there were some that flowed from my heart to know Him more and to be more like Him. I called them my Prayer Covenant because it was a covenant between us. I was desperate to know Him because I did not want to fall back on the dark path where I once walked. Now when I look back, the prayers I prayed daily has taught me to be consistent and disciplined in my prayer life, and they enabled me to grow spiritually. As I exercised my faith through prayer, I am now a prayer warrior for others, which is rewarding. But I say the greatest reward I received through prayer, is the close-knit relationship I have now as I communicate with the Lord each day. It was worth the investment to receive this pure rich fulfillment of His love, peace, and joy as we share together. I thank Him and give Him all praise for making me a new woman of prayer and praise. In my pastor’s sermon this past Sunday online, he talked about building our life on the foundation of Christ and the importance to build a pillar of prayer. Now I look back on my life and see where my work began as I built a pillar of prayer and below is a sample of one of my prayers I prayed for years and I pray it will encourage you as it has me…

There was a time when all I ever thought about was me. I was dreamlike, with a dream and I focused all my attention on making my dream come true. If things didn’t go my way I would whine and feel sorry for myself. I attended many of my own self pity parties and it didn’t get me anywhere. Also, I was not a good listener and I’d Interrupt in the middle of the conversation to talk about me and my troubles instead. But that’s not all, I was easily angered at the least little thing. Wow, when I look back on the way I was, no wonder I didn’t have any friends…now that was the person I was at one time and what a sad case!
But changes have taken place In my life since Jesus got a hold of my life and I’m glad! When I let it all go and gave Him, my dream, my plans and even my attitude, gradually
new hope enlightened my heart and I could see my life as a puzzle and each piece fit in so perfectly as time went on. I’m now a new woman with a heart of compassion, I no longer live to please myself, but work towards pleasing others. When this is all over and we can go back to a somewhat normal life, I can’t wait to bless others. I’m sure many will be still fearful, burdened down with problems of all kinds. So I’m looking forward to the future so I can shine a light on those around me, wherever I go. To share a smile, a prayer, a kind word or loving gesture, to build up and encourage and to instil hope to the hopeless and the helpless, with a word from the Lord or whatever He puts on my heart to do or say.
I’m in prison ministry as well and when I was writing this I received a letter from a prisoner and he said, “I’ve been inside 26 years in a place where there is little to no light, however every once in a while a ray of light shines in to let me know there’s hope! Your ministry has shined in on me and I say thank you.” What a blessing to receive that note and through it I’ve learned I don’t have to wait till this is over, I can touch hearts and shine a light on others even now.
Years ago this prayer overflowed from my heart…

Lord Jesus,

My desire is to be a blessing to others, a sweet reflection of Your Love.
I give You my life as an offering, a sweet sacrifice. I am Your vessel of honour in deep submission to You. Sanctify me wholly so I may flow in the purity of Your presence. Purify my heart as I give You all praise In the beauty of Your holiness. May the fruit of my lips glorify You with expressions of Love.
May I dwell on lovely things and capture every thought in obedience to You.
Shower me with the scent of Your fragrance so I may share, Your everlasting beauty.
Let me overflow with a fresh anointing of Your Holy Spirit.
Let the windows of heaven open and pour out Your blessing, so I may give unto others. I will carry the Light of Your promise, giving Hope to all nations, sharing Your mercy and grace. May Your heavenly words of wisdom enlighten their eyes, lifting their spirits beyond darkest skies. A sweet Higher realm, shall ever be, make me a blessing, setting men free. I’ll give You all Glory, Honour and Praise, Always forever, in all of Your ways. Amen & Amen

The Lord said, I will save you and you shall be a blessing fear not, let your hands be strong.. Zechariah 8:14b I shall rejoice greatly in Your promise, thank You Father for making my life a blessing.

Life can be difficult at times, but right now through isolation, it can be devastating to those who are suffering physically, financially and emotionally. Everything in life we once enjoyed has been taken from us, even our families, so how do we get through it?
Well I can only speak for myself so, this is how I overcome…
In Psalm 100 verses 4 and 5 says, Enter into Hs gates with thanksgiving and enter into His courts with praise, be thankful and bless His name, for God is good. I’ve discovered before I face the day and my mind gets carried away with crazy thoughts, I need to enter into God’s presence. I need to have an attitude of gratitude, and thank Him for everything no matter what is going on around me, I need to trust Him fully. So there’s a work on my part to do every day and it’s what you call a step of obedience. Without it I can’t expect God to strengthen me and help me without first acknowledging Him. He asks me to enter in and that’s just what I’ll do. I can’t trust my feelings because they flow up and down like the waves of the sea. However as I trust Him and praise Him, even when I don’t feel like it, my feelings eventually follow and overflow in a good sense and my spirit and physical being Is refreshed and revived. In Isaiah 61 verse 3 The Lord gives us the garment of praise to replace the spirit of heaviness, in other words it’s available and all we have to do is put it on and praise Him. Now even though things change in the world, the greatest thing is, God stays the same yesterday, today and forever and His love will remain. So let us enter into His presence this day with Thanksgiving and let us be thankful to Him and give Him all praise and bless His name, for He is good and we can trust Him. His mercies are new every morning and never ends, and His truth goes on from generation to generation. He is a faithful God and He’ll never let us down. He sits and waits for you to acknowledge Him, He longs for you to draw near to Him. Don’t turn your back on Him, let Him prove His love for you and now is the time, right in this moment, not tomorrow, for it may not come. And Isaiah 43 verse 21 says the people I have formed for Myself shall declare My praise. So, let’s please Him with our praise, whether we feel like it or not, and watch the difference it will make in your day ❤️

Have you reached your breaking point? If you are finding It hard to cope through this time don’t let it break you, but let it make you. How is it possible? Well I believe all that is going on right now is happening for reasons unknown and we don’t have the answers right now, but just because we don’t know, doesn’t mean we’ve to worry about it. it’s best not to focus on what it could do to the economy or how it could change the world in a negative way, because if we focus on all the harm it could do, it will break us in the end. So first we have to relax and trust God because He is in control over all. Let God make us into stronger people as we wait on Him to work it all out. If we let worry and fear take over it will only lead us down a broken road that could break us even more. So what’s the answer? Well we first have to believe God will bring us through it. He Is a God of the impossible and He will see us through. Don’t ever be concerned over something that is out of our control..if we do, it will only break us into more broken pieces.

Trust in the Lord and don’t lean on your own understanding because most of the things you don’t understand, aren’t meant to be understood. So let it all go and let God take care of it, acknowledge Him and give Him all your cares and worries. I pray this prayer encourages you and I pray for God to calm the waves and cause your heart to stir within you of His magnificent love John 16:33 Jesus said, These things I have spoken to you, that in me you might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. One day we will be with Jesus and we are not home yet but we are homeward bound and soon it will come when we will hear His voice and see His face and we will be home at last. Thank You for Your grace may it comfort me, And give me strength to make it through another day. May I keep my eyes on You and not on troubles around me. Pour down Your peace and let it overflow deep within and without my weary soul. Don’t let me lose control but keep my mind calm. Let me rest in You as I live in the moment, With no fearful thoughts of tomorrow or hurts of yesterday. Don’t let this break me, but let it make me into the person You want me to be. Have you ever been in a place so dark, you couldn’t find your way out? I have! There was a time in my life I couldn’t see light, because I was too deep in darkness! Well it is a terrible place to be and I wouldn’t want to wish it on anyone. Through a painful event I fell into a deep dark pit and there was no escape. When I think back to that dark time I lost all hope and I was in a horrible state of depression, destined for death and nothing or no one could have helped me out. I was what you’d call the lost sheep that wandered from the fold. A prodigal that had lost her way and I was determined that I would never return. My life was a mess and I believed I had gone too far, but you know something? As I sat in the burnt ruined ashes of my past, a spark rekindled. A flame of hope enlightened my eyes and when I looked up, there was the great Shepherd. And He loved me In spite of my dirt and darkness. He wasn’t going to let me go any further and it was like the parable In the bible where He left the 99 sheep to rescue me and I could hear His voice in my spirit call me home. As I took that first step little did I realize the greatness of His beauty that He would portray in my life. I was on the threshold of something greater than I ever imagined. As I took more steps on His path that flame He rekindled from my ashes, turned Into a wildfire of love for Him no words can fully explain. It didn’t happen overnight of course and there was no Instant formula He had that would mold me and make me more like Him. There were lessons I had to learn and It was a long process. But through it all He refined all my broken pieces and He put me back together into a new creation, a new woman filled with His grace and all for His glory. When I look back at it all and see the woman that I was to where I am now, I say wow! Is He finished with me yet? No, there’s still work to be done, but it’s a good work and I can live above all my circumstances as I put my trust in Him. Phil.1:6

For with Him is the fountain of Life, In His Light I see light…Psalms 36:9

There was once no light at the end of tunnel…I now see His light shining bright for me..

I see the light of true freedom, I am set free

I see the light of His goodness and Love

I see the light of His power (Holy Spirit) and He leads me each day

I see His light of hope for my future

I see the light of His faithfulness, He’s always been there for me

I now give Him all praise for He called me out from the darkness and into His marvellous Light. 1 Peter 2:9  I follow His light in every step I take Gal.5:25

If you are in a dark place right now then you too can experience an amazing journey with Him. To me I find it even better If you’re at your lowest because when He lifts you up and shines His light on you, wow, it’s a supernatural high you live like no other. You’d have to experience it yourself to know what I mean. Right at this moment if you feel like giving up, well I believe you are right at that same threshold I was at. So, all you have to do is answer His call, oh yes, He is calling you out from the the darkness and when you answer and let Him have His way..you are on your way to the greatest journey ever. If you want out, then pray this prayer from your heart.

Lord Jesus,

I believe in You, shine your light on me. Rescue me from darkness, make Yourself real to me so I can walk in victory and overcome all my weakness. I surrender my life to You, make me new so I can live in true freedom. Amen

If you prayed that prayer well you are on your way to a new way of walking, filled with His love, joy and peace. Now remember it doesn’t happen overnight, it’s a process. Some people say you have to quit bad habits before you can come to the Lord, nonsense, come as you are and He will remove It all and replace it with greater things than your mind could ever Imagine right now.

I was never a patient person in the past. I wanted everything right now or never, even on the day my mom was in labour with me, I was in a hurry and on the way up to the delivery room, I arrived in the elevator and shocked everyone. That was the beginning of my impatient life. And for years that’s how It was till the Lord got hold of my life, then my journey to wait, began. I’ll say it wasn’t easy to wait, but when I look back It was well worth the wait. Why? Well through all my years of waiting God was all along building within me a new woman of strength and a new woman of wisdom. Of course at the time going through the process I didn’t realize the importance of It all and it was tough in the beginning stages. And it wasn’t until much later I noticed a difference in me that I was able to wait for things that at one time would have driven me crazy if I had to wait more than a day. My relationship with the Lord has grown so strong that I’ve learned to trust Him because He knows what’s best. And even through these difficult times In lockdown and I haven’t seen my grandkids in two months I can still trust Him. So every morning I wake up and throughout the day I stay focused on Him because through it all He Is continually building me up and making me more like Him, that’s the secret. Through it all I was inspired to write this prayer to keep me focused and to also encourage you and others and hey! I believe It to be true that good things come to those who wait…

Lord Jesus

I will take courage and wait on You…May Your mercy overflow for me, as my soul trusts in You alone. I will hide under the shadow of Your wings until these troubles pass. Help me to keep my eyes and mind off worthless things, so I can stay focused on You. Embrace me with Your peace, clothe me with Your grace. May nothing hinder me from taking time with You, just You and I alone, is my desire. Strengthen me Lord I pray, so I can endure another day. Fill me afresh with Your Holy Spirit, lift me high above the troubles that surround me. May I soar with You above the clouds of despair. I love you and I trust You and I know You hear my prayer. I will take courage and wait on You, for I believe according to Your promise, that You will strengthen my heart. Thank You Jesus, Amen

Wait on the Lord, be of good courage and He will strengthen your heart, Wait I say on the Lord! Ps. 27:14

Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, My soul trusts In You

In the shadow of Your wings I take refuge, until these troubles pass by.

Whatever you are facing today I know you won’t be sorry to wait, just a little while longer, and it will pay off. You have God on your side and you can trust Him. He is all you need.
