Today, I experienced a Joy, beyond the believable!
In a trying moment, when I wanted to burst out in tears…
I heard the words, Count it all Joy!
In James chapter 1 verse 2 it says, Count it all Joy when you fall into various trials.
Well, with a broken heart I sadly responded,
Yes, I will count it all Joy, but I have to admit I didn’t feel like it at all.
To be honest I thought, how is it possible for me to be joyful at a time like this?
But I kept speaking it as I went about my day. To my surprise, an hour later I found myself breaking out in bouts of laughter each time I spoke it.
Wow, I thought how can this be? In the natural I should be upset about the whole situation and normally I would be for days.
Then I looked up the scriptures I have read in the past on the power of the tongue in Proverbs 18:21 it says, Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat it’s fruit.
Words kill or words give life, they either produce bad fruit or good fruit, the choice is up to us. This is the first time I have experienced such a sudden, dramatic change in my emotions, but it certainly proved to me that God’s word is true, alive and active.
There is power in our words no doubt, but how much more power is speaking the word of God over our lives. I’m amazed at what happened to me today and this is only the beginning. I am determined to speak the power of God’s word over my life everyday so I can live in victory and overcome my every trial.
